- What are they?
-
* Physically, a DataCard is a thin, transparent piece of plastic with a media coating about the center.
-
* DataCards are recordable CDs (CD-Rs) which operate in the center of your CD tray (or fit on a CD spindle).
-
* A DataCard's capacity is 50.87Mb. Some of this capacity is required for the Autorun.inf file and any viewers required for the data content.
- How much do they cost (xGST)?
- For what?
-
* As noted on the Sales Page, all content development work is done at a flat $50/hr rate
-
* Labels are $30 for the simple design and $50 for photo quality
-
* Production rates (including printing and adhering labels and inserting the completed DataCards into sleeves) are based on quantity ordered and range from $2.50 ea for 9-99 down to $2.10 ea for 1000 or more
-
* DIY supplies are $47 for a box of 20 blank DataCards and labels are $1 a sheet (9 labels per sheet)
- What about labels?
-
* DataCard labels are printed by a colour laser. This is the best technical solution as current inkjet and thermal print technology is not sufficient for photo-quality printing.
-
* DataCard labels do NOT smudge like injket labels do when touched by rain, wet hands or the inevitable coffee spill.
-
* DataCard labels stay attached! I've touched one to a CD in the wrong position and destroyed the label attempting to remove it.
-
* If you're providing your own label design (PSD or JPG, 300 or 600 dpi, CMYK), don't forget to add 2mm outside bleeds and keep print 2mm inside interior borders — and don't forget the spindle hole!
- Do DataCards need to be protected in jewel cases?
-
* DataCards are provided in clear plastic sleeves to protect the media surface.
-
* Unlike the larger full-size (120mm) and mini (80mm) CDs, the sleeve is sufficient to protect the DataCard in the post withOUT the expense of a jewel case OR padded envelope.
- What about DataCards'
quality control?
-
* DataCards' computers are protected by the latest antivirus programmes (and the virus definition lists are kept up to date). You and your clients are assured of the most virus-free content possible.
-
* Every DataCard is created in a combined process of COPY and VERIFY to ensure that the content is an exact duplicate of the original.
- Can others copy my software or copyright material?
-
* As with any digital file, your content can be copied (duplicated), however ...
-
* DataCards can add disk copy protection if requested.
- You want to do it yourself?
-
